How the hell do you split the case without causing damage ??

I took all the bolts out have it up off the bench on the studs and can not for the life of me get the case to split. I tried a dead blow hammer up on the motot mounts and it will not budge. I do not want to damage it, I did not have a puller to get the fly wheel off but I dont think there are any bolts behind it are there ?

I need any tricks you guys have.

    1200XLL PV 66V motor

    Thanks

very careful without sticking anything in between mating surfaces on one of the sides it has some ears were you can stick a prybar and start to separate it i think its on pto side

OK thanks I saw that spot but before I started to pry I wanted to see if there was a trick or two.

    Thanks

Got it apart just used the pry bar in a few spots and it finally split took more pressure than I expected but I guess it was sealed good

    Thanks

Use loctite 7200 to clean your silicongasket, instead of scratching, it will make you happy!

I would not recommend spitting the case without removing the flywheel and coupler. As you might need to change the crank seals. It is hard to take out the flywheel and coupler with the case open.

I got the flywheel off but the coupler will not budge, is it standard thread or reverse ??

    Thanks

It is standard, spin it left to take it off. A coupler removal tool makes it very easy with an impact wrench. Otherwise you may have to hold the flywheel.

I have done it a bunch by placing the rear crank webs in a large bench vice. Then use a large pipe wrench to get the coupler off.
