How to prep for my Miami to Bimini trip next month on my new rxt x 260?
Next month my father and I are trailering our pwc's from New York to Miami, Florida and participating in the Bimini Road Rally. I will be riding my new 2012 sea doo rxt x 260 and my father will be riding his 2011 kawasaki ultra lx. We leave on the morning of June 22 and travel over 50 miles across the Atlantic Ocean until reaching Bimini, Bahamas. We will be spending the weekend in Bimini and returning on Monday June 25th.
I want to know what you guys recommend we do to prep our skis for a safe trip. We are both installing bilge pumps within the next few weeks. I have done a lot of reading on the forum and noticed that many guys use different bilge pumps. I was going to put the bilge pump that sea doo offers but I am questioning if i should get a larger pump. What do you guys think?
I will also be getting the first service done prior to leaving and I will ride it afterwards and do a basic check to make sure everything is tight and dry.
I will be bringing the basic equipment like the coast guard kit, plenty of tow rope, vhf radio, hopefully a newer style gps, spark plugs, fire extinguisher, small tool kit, zip ties, duct tape, etc etc
Please feel free to list some suggestions to help make sure our skis makes a safe voyage.
