    99 gp800 grip options?

I wanna change the grips on my gp800 but since the left hand grip has the qsts made into it,is it possible to just get some new nicer more comfortable grips and carefully trim the old one down so I don't mess with the trim shifter.the original ones are starting to get bad and I don't wanna pay a lot at yamaha for the uncomfortable ugly factory grips and mine is still in good shape except for a split towards the bar end

I modified the stock twist grip to match a set of ODI grips. It works ok but it isn't as smooth as the complete assembly. I didn't take my time and it is a little loose.

I would buy a second twist grip to work on in case you mess it up

Ya I ended up just trimming it down and installing some progrips worked out good just needed dirtbike grips and use the throttle grip on the trim since its hole is slightly larger
