How to remove the Extension, Pump part #5131196????

The extention is frozen to the pump housing. I have tried everything, muriatic acid to remove the salt, soaking it in rust breaker fluid, it will not budge.

Anybody have a solution to get it off?

Tap around the mating seam with a small hammer then use "persuasion power" of a big rubber mallet to get it rock side to side.

I heated it up and used an air hammer. Came right off.

I use a 2lb dead blow to take that stuff apart.

Is the pump base (and stuck wear ring) still attached to the hull? If so, leverage with long 2x4... gently prying on each side to pop off wear ring.

If off the ski... put pump base on solid piece of wood... and big rubber mallet blows on wear ring... as you rotate it. Heat would be a option too on the wear ring.

    Good luck.

See the jet pump section from my signature links for a video showing one method of getting the sections to divorce.
