    cavitation issues 2003 gtx sc

I replaced the wear ring, when I take off it bounces off the rev limiter before picking up speed. I've also noticed that it doesn't seem to want to turn tight anymore which is a huge problem. I have no water leaking into my hull. I just picked up an aluminum pump housing from a board member for a 2008 rxp, my understanding is that I need to change out the prop to mine then it will fit??? Where else should I be looking for this issue? The water behind me looks like 7-up so it is definitely getting a lot of air from somewhere.

    Your bellows are probably worn

bellows? What are those and where? Are you referring to the cover for the carbon seal I have been reading about?

Maybe there is a gap between the prop and the seal , please check that

you need to swap the 185 impeller AND 185 wear ring into the aluminum pump.
    then it will work properly.
turning is a different issue, unless its related to the cavitation, if you CAV. that bad then maybe you have no power to turn properly.
fix the CAV, and then see how turning is
might as well replace the accordion boot and carbon seal setup. it could also be leaking air, and is getting pretty old.

    also fyi
you can flip the wear ring over one time so the fresh part of the ring is centered over the impeller.
so in essence you can use every wear ring twice.

the cavitation is so bad it is affecting the steering. When I take off I bounce off the rev limiter until about 10 mph. My aluminum pump will be here today so I'll be swapping that on. My wear ring has only a couple hours on it and looks great. I am getting a massive amount of air from somewhere, I'm thinking the bellows from my reading.

you can loosen the bellows clamp to the rear of the ski and move it slightly forward and reclamp. for more pressure on carbon seal. temporary fix to check if it solves the problem. dont move too far forward, there is not much hull there to clamp to!!!
if it helps slip a zip tie in behind the bellows to hold it forward while you clamp it down.
make sure the rubber seal around the pump is in good shape. it goes btw the pump and the hull. lube it with some silicone grease. make sure you have correct wear ring, it should be really tight fit on the impeller. make sure your impeller is not all beat up, bent nicked chipped wavy blades etc.

is the bellows inside the hull or on the bottom of the outside? I don't have it here in front of me right now. I get my prop tool today so I'll be swapping to the aluminum pump today.
