My 2003 GTX Engine build 215+
My plan is to add pictures and info as I rebuild the engine.
My 2003 GTX prop unscrewed from the pump and took out my thrust bearing in the motor forcing a complete rebuild.
I found out its very bad when you pull the pump out and the prop stays on the driveshaft due to it unscrewing from the pump bearing.
Rich at WFO hooked me up with a good used block, crank, rod, forged pistions, and balance shaft.
Last night I ordered all the rebuild parts, bearings, gaskets, oil pumps, screens, ect...
Also got a prop tool and candoo on order.
I plan to keep my current mods,
215 s.c. gear with green wheel
and then add a rebuild with forged 215 pistons and ferrea or riva valves. ( I have the bad stock exhaust valves in my head now)
Get it running good and go from there.
I hope you guys can help me out as I go! Thanks
The bad news is my valves are back ordered until around June 20th.

Crank is shot.
Whats left of my thrust washer.
bearing and rod tried to become one.
main bearing at thrust washer.
Rod towards back spun a bearing. its black from the heat from spinning the bearing.
most of this is rubber from the driveshaft bumper hat thing that was destroyed.
metal in filter
empty ski that needs a engine!

Dose any one know is the stock 185hp cam the same as the 155 cam?

Do a parts number search in the store for the cam comparison.
Also, if you are spending good money on OEM pistons, consider a little more and get a good aftermarket piston...just in case you want to go bigger later...just like you are for the valves. It is cheaper and easier to do it now, while the engine is apart. Contact Rich about it.

Update still waiting on parts.
I ended up buying a 06 rxt with a broken timing chain. I fixed that engine installed it into my 03 gtx I had it out today. It runs good!
I have it setup basically stock 215 but without a intercooler.
It only runs about 7000 rpms and 55 mph.
I think the 14/17 prop I have on it is to big? I will be checking slip on the charger also.
