'04 MSX 150 piston questions... same as SL/SLT 750 ?
So... I'm contemplating what my low compression readings on my MSX150 mean. They were 110# each. The engine had overheating issues which is what caused it to get traded in. I believe the problem was a broken plastic water pump gear that was eventually replaced... but I think the damage was done. I'm pulling the engine and going to remove the head to confirm. I'm wondering if overheating just burned up the rings or caused the Nicasil plating to deteriorate badly. Guess we'll see.
But I was thinking, I'll probably need new pistons/rings... either with new block or new cylinder liners. As I search fleabay, I see pistons for MSX150 also listing SL/SLT 750 as compatible. Is this correct?
Both engines are 750cc... but one is a triple and one a twin. So I'm guessing the Weber has a longer stroke vs the Fuji?
Do you need any special type of piston or rings if you use Nicasil plated cylinder vs say a steel liner?

Good to know... thanks!
I was surprised to see the SL/SLT 750 listed as same part in multiple listings when I searched for pistons for MSX150.
