94 raider 701 jet pump suddenly whining/whirrling very loud

Just like the title says. Ran it in water last weak but left on the trailer. Ran very well. Got it home, flushed it and it sounded very good. Started yesterday and at idle cant hear the whine. As soon as I give it some throttle, it becomes very distinct and gets very loud as rpms get higher. Throttle doesnt seem as responsive either but that may be me not wanting to rev as fast because of the noise. The impeller is spinning when its running. Cylinders have 150psi each. Not sure what to look at first or what the problem points toward since this is my first ski. Thanks for the help everyone

Maybe a bearing in the engine, jetpump, or midshaft is seizing up.

Can I disconnect the engine from the midshaft and start it to rule out the engine?

yes. you can unbolt the engine from the hull and slide it forward until it clears the midshaft. Just be careful running the engine when its not bolted down.

Kind of a stupid question here, but is there any crankcase oil on these engine or jet pump oil or is the only oil for the engine the premix for the gas?

The only oil for the engine comes from the premix in the gas (or oil injection). The midshaft and jetpump have marine grease in them

The engine isn't bolted to the midshaft. It has a toothed coupler with a rubber puck in between like this:

    here's a pick of a midshaft:

Ok I will seperate the midshaft and engine and start it. If its the pump or midshaft what part in there could it be? Also when it starts there is like a metal rattling sound too when it idles
