    94 wave runner help

I have a 1994 Yamaha wave runner that has a problem. When Its cold it runs great, but when it warms up, after about a minute of riding it runs bad. It will only go about 5-10 mph and acts like its pulling something heavy yet the engine is at full throttle.

I have had it to a shop twice and they said everything looks good. It has good compression.

    Any advice?

Anyone? I have no clue what to look for and I don't want to take it back to the shop because they didn't fix the problem.

Sometimes the spark plug wires will go bad with these old units and the plugs will miss when they get hot. You can try to pull the spark plug boots off of the wires, cut about 1/4" off of the ends, then re-attach them. The wires are fine when they are cold, but cannot fire when they get hot because they are broken up internally.

It is just a shot and does not cost a thing to try.
