Point to ponder, Dirt
RXP's (all 4 strokes too) have a stock air intake system that is open (no filter) and if you trailer your ski to the ramp, be it highway or a gravel road (common to get to ramps) your getting dirt inside the ski via the air intakes.(plus bugs, tree fluff etc.)
So where does this dirt go when you start the ski, into the engine.
Now with 2 strokes this was not much of an issue but we have superchargers (a very close tolerance device that I bet hates dirt), and valves and very close cylinder tolerance compaired to a 2 stroke.
So would it not be a good idea to add an aftermatket air intake with a filter (any filter is better than no filter) to protect your investment?
I understand why ski's don't have them, out on the water there is little dirt to get in, but you have to get to the water.
To add life to your engine, go with an aftermarket intake with a filter.

Very good point there Sun! Though I don't own one, it sounds like very good advice to all that have one. Thanks for sharing your helpful thoughts.

I agree, it's always a good idea to have a filter. Thats why i really like the Riva Power Filter.
