GP 1200R vs RXP 215 Gas consumption
Just curious as to how they compare. On my 1200R we use premix and it seems like we are going through gas like none other. My dad wants to sell it for a 4 stroke. But I know the 215's can be gas hogs too. Just wondering if it would actually make sense to sell the 1200 and look for an RXP. Thanks for any input.

GP1200r burns 17 ghp WOT
RXP 215 burns 16.4 GHP WOT
You won't be saving much if anything.

Well what about just cruising around/short bursts/messing around? I ride in mostly chop which requires a lot of throttle varying.
I figure we'd also save money from not needing to buy oil every other weekend.

Anyone else have any input as to whether or not this would be worth doing or not? Thanks.

It costs 65 dollars to change oil and filter on a Rxp if you use Seadoo oil.
The gas is gonna be the same. If you want good milage the best I have seen are 951 seadoo direct injection,
Yamaha Fx 140/ Ho 160 or any non supercharged/ Turbo 4 stroke.

agreed. anytime your in the boost on a sc 4 stroke you are getting 2 stroke gas mileage. if you were cruising alot it would be a noticeable improvement by going to a 4 stroke, but from what you said, the best bet is either a N/A 4 stroke or stay with what you have.

well I'm not about to downgrade to something slower then what I have. Just not what I want. I understand that a boosted 4 stroke will still suck gas. But I do cruise a lot too...its not like I'm WOT all the time. Plus I just rolled 250 hours on the 1200, so I figure its about time to move on to something newer. Thanks for the input guys.

With out using boost either of my Rxps will run over 4 hrs on a tank of gas.
I would bet a stock efi 1300 would do the same.
