    2004 RXP Prop Advice

Guys, I would like some advice on which prop to run. I have read a lot of posts and I'm on the fence about which one to choose, I have a Solas 14/19 (old) and a Solas 15/20(current). I'm thinking of going up to the 15/21 or 15/22 to get some more top end. Also feel free to chime in on anything wlse that looks blatantly wrong in my setup.

    2004 RXP
X-Charger with spacer and new wheel (14.5 lbs of boost)
Ferrea Valves with upgraded springs and retainers
    4" Intake from PPG
    External Fuel Pressure Regulator
    50lb injectors
Factory ECU Reflash with 9400 RPM Rev Limit - PPG tuned
    Rotax Racing Thermostat
    External Intercooler
    2004 Factory Cam
Stock bottom end with ~50 hours on it
    Riva intake grate
    Riva Sponsons
    Reverse Bucket Mod
Filled holes on intake grate and ride plate
    Riva Pro OPAS block offs

    80.8MPH (Garmin GPS) L-Temp 57, E-Temp 55, 1/2 tank of fuel, 150 lb rider, smooth water

I'm probably forgetting some stuff but my problem lies in the fact that without changing the cam, I can't get more than 8650 RPM and my fastest run is not what I was expecting with this setup. The cam is the next step but it makes the machine a maintenance hog in my opinion and I really don't want to check the valves more than once a season, and Rotax Racing is absolutely bonkers for the MSRP of that piece of metal.

    Thanks

There could be more to this than your prop..with a 15/20 and a 9400 rpm rev limit you should be higher than 8650...I would make sure your cam is set up correctly and your AFRs are good..And If you cannot turn the 15/20 to 9400 you'll never get a bigger prop there...

I have been told that the power falls off above 8500 and that the cam will not make enough power to spin above ~8800. I seem to get the same 8650 with the 14/19 because my first thought was the prop was too tall. I will take it out again today with the 14/19 and check again. The air/fuel seems good based on spark plug color but I will add a AFR guage next week (just clicked Buy It) and update the thread.

    Thanks

Ok, fresh out of the water.

    14/19 Solas
    E-Temp 77
    L-Temp 66
3 Bars Of Fuel (mix of 93 and 110 octane)
    6 inch chop
    78.9 mph downriver
    77.4 mph upriver
    78.1 mph median
    155lb rider
    8750 max RPM

The ski does not like when it hits 9000 RPM out of the water on waves, it just does not sound good and power does not return instantly when the pump reloads.
