    Carbon Seal

    I need to change mine on a 2005 RXP I looked around last fall and found some pictures of replacing but can not find them now any help would be appreciated.

    There are kits available but most do not have all the parts
    Like the 4 O-rings that seal the drive shaft (taking out the drive shaft can damage them) IMO buy the bellows because it keeps the carbon seal tight against the hat
    The carbon seal rides on the hat and it should be replaced with a new carbon seal (it needs to be perfect for a good seal)
    The drive shaft bumper usually also gets damaged when you remove the drive shaft

    I pulled it all apart with good help from your list Thanks for posting it also I think I should replace the bearing it didnt seem to spin to freely would you know where I could find the # for the bearing.

    420832648 is the part number for the Bearing that goes inside the bellow right off of the PTO housing, this part number comes with bearing and boot.

    Ive had my shaft out numerous times and it does not damage the shaft bumper

    Lol had my shaft out

    Yeah just make sure you have it on before install...lol
