    Flywheel question from a newbie

    I've lurked long enough. lol

    I have a 94 slt 750 that has driven me crazy... I have tried all the tests that I found here and keep coming up with having mismatched parts... If anyone could tell me if the flywheel part# 75w94 or f4t310 75 is for a 94 it would be greatly appreciated. The stator has no numbers on it that I can find. The cdi is numberf8t16272. I tried the polaris search and came up with nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    75 = 750

    w = most likely watercraft

    94 = 1994

    So that should be fine

    The stator will have numbers in marker on the back side of it. Really would need to know what those are to help.

    What else is stamped on the CDI? Should be something similar to the 75W94

    And welcome to the Hulk.

    Hey thanks for the help.. I didn't find any other #s on the stator except 1-1-F247 stamped on the plate..The CDI is the same way, nothing similar to 75W94. It does have 16720101 and 3Y19 on it. I also checked another CDI and the only difference was it had 3X27 on it. I do know now that it did have the wrong flywheel on it. I just want to try to get parts that I or someone else knows for sure will interchange. Thanks again for your help..

    See this photo - It is faint, but the first line i believe reads 16720101. This is confirmed out of a 94 750.Click image for larger version.

    So it sounds like both your flywheel and CDI are correct for a 1994 SL or SLT 750

    Thanks for the info. Now if I could identify the stator I would be doing good. The fly wheel that was on it was the wrong one. The 75w94 is the one I picked up yesterday. The one that I pulled off was for a 93 sl750. Isn't that for a analog system instead of digital?

    Easy, i just looked up your CDI

    F8T16272 is listed for a 1992 650

    That will not work with a digital ignition for long. What's weirder is the 1992 elec system uses different elec connectors I believe.

    How about posting a pic of your elec box inards?

    Yes, the 93 750 was an analog system.

    Sounds like you have a frenkenstein ski going on there.....

Size: 3.3 KBIf the F8T16272 is for a 92 650 then the 93 flywheel should have fired it, correct?

    Am I correct in assuming you removed the yellow wire (tach), the red yellow (start button), and red purple (power) from the board to open it and take pics? Looks like they are not connected right now... Actually looks like all kinds of stuff is pulled apart....

    Yes I have disconnected the wiring to open the box. I only $100.00 in the ski. It does have good compression and everything else looked good on it and in it. No rust in the cylinders. The previous owner claimed it had a bad stator and didn't want to put the time in it to fix it. The ski came with 2 extra e boxes and a stator and 2 extra cdi's. The stator that was in it was bad. I installed the one that came with it, it passed the ohm tests found here. Still didn't have any fire at the plugs. I then changed the cdi with one that came with it, still no spark. I Then figured out (thanks to you guys) that the flywheel was not the correct fly wheel. So asking around and getting more info, it appears that the cdi's are not correct for the 94 and possibly the stator could be wrong as well. The stator has no identifying marks at all. Im thinking I may need to try and find a matching stator and cdi?
