how do you check for bent rods? If the valves hit the pistons are the pistons bad?

I'm working on a 06 4tec that suffered timing chain failure.

All but 2 valves hit the pistons. The pistons look ok to me, just shiny where the valves hit.
Are the pistons bad if they hit the valves?
Do I need to check for bent rods?

I pulled the engine and split the case to clean it out. I plan to install new chain, gaskets, slides, complete used 2003 head.
Also the chain broke a few teeth off of the flywheel so I plan to change the flywheel and the supercharger gear.

It had ceramic washer failure sometime in the past that they cleaned out and installed riva washers.

Is the ceramic washer red looking? I found a few pieces of red looking stuff in it and also found all the broken teeth.
    Everything else looked very good.

I've seen pieces of a stator in the oil screens that was red.
I think the ceramic washers were grey.

The red stuff is most likely the reminants of bearing cage material from a supercharger failure........
