my 2012 VXR/S revamp :)
I have converted my 2012 VXS to complete VXR design... focusing on a metallic silver/black style.
Now you may ask "why did you do this? why not just have bought a 2012 VXR?". I really have no good answer other than because I can. And I enjoy doing an occasional franken-build mixture of models.
The cost for the conversion:
Yamaha 2012 VXR 2-person racing style seat - $500
Yamaha 2012 VXR folding reboarding step kit - $300 (for step and all parts)
Yamaha 2012 VXR graphics kit for carbon black frame - $100
reboarding step install price by yamaha tech center - $100 (step is being installed tommorow)
3rd party vxr black seat cover with metallic silver accents (currenlty on backorder) -$250
Cant wait to ge tthe black/silver seat cover, because it'll really set off the tone.
but here it is thus far... far more beast than the metallic silver/orange striped VXS

what's strange is how much the silver metallic reduces heat in direct sunlight.
Vanyel1970, another member here who helped me redo some of the decals, has a carbon black 2011 FZR. side by side, same amount of time in the sun, his FZR was scolding hot to the touch. Mine was lukewarm at best touching the silver metallic paint.
Didn't think paint color would make much heat resistance difference, but apparently it makes a huge one...

Nicely done. Can't wait to see the seat cover. I am planing on getting one for my VXR as well. You order it from Jet Trim?

Are you selling the VXS seat?

Cougar... i am. It's brand new, was used only once when i bought it a month ago, sitting in storage. It's the stock 2012 VXS 3-person seat. Interchangebale with the VXR/VX-series too. Yamaha is charging $500 for either the VXR or VXS seat brand new.
Just to get rid of it because it taking up space, I'm selling it for $150 plus shipping fees from cincinnati. Hell of a deal.
