    WSM Cylinder Base Gasket

Can I use a WSM cylinder base gasket on one cylinder of my GP800R if the other cylinder has an OEM gasket? I replaced the piston on one cylinder and used an OEM gasket. The I pulled the other cylinder to inspect things, but I did not order another gasket for it. I was going to order a couple of gaskets for my carbs from Atlanticjetsports, and I see that they have the WSM base gasket but not the OEM gasket. I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for the OEM if they are better, but I was hoping to save on a second shipping charge. If the WSM gaskets are decent and the same thickness, then I would think it would be fine.

That's what I figured, but I was hoping someone could tell me if they are the same thickness before I order one. Anyone ever measured them? Or anyone with both lying around that would be willing to measure them?

Or if someone has a WSM gasket lying around and could just measure how thick it is, I could measure the old OEM gasket I have.

I ended up ordering two of the WSM gaskets from Atlanticjetsports just in case the thickness is different. I figured I'd rather spend an extra $8 just in case and not have to do a second order. In case it helps someone in the future, when they come in I will compare them to the OEM gasket and post back on whether or not they are the same thickness.

yes they are fine, I have used them never an issue. Most of their gaskets are actually pretty good, unlike alot of other aftermarket ones out there.

Well, the stock gasket is about .016" thick, and the WSM gasket is about .015", so the difference is 1 thousandth (maybe closer to half a thousanth). I think I will just change both and be done with it.
