2010 FZR R&D Ride Plate Install Help!
I'm installing an r&d ride plate for my 2010 fzr, no other modifications have been done on my ski. I usually keep my ski at the marina on a floating dock so my stock ride plate is pretty "salted up". I oiled it as much as possible but i'm having problems moving the 4 screws holding the speedometer on. I don't want to strip them, anyone have any good ideas on removing these 4 screws?

Welcome to the forum
As for the speedo screws, you need to heat them up. Mine had red loctite on them. Use a heat gun or a micro torch and go slow.
BTW when you say "no other mods", you have changed the intake grate right??

I know about the bucking issue with these skis, I have not changed the intake grate yet. I will change it eventually but is that required to change the ride plate? or are you saying that as I should change it asap due to safety concerns?

The intake grate is a safety issue, but you can change the ride plate without it.
BUT, make sure you do it ASAP. It's that important.

Chad, thank you so much for your quick replies. I'm ordering the intake grate now as well.

Thanks Jim. Can you recommend an intake grate to go with my r&d ride plate? (stay with r&d or go with riva?) is there anything else I need other than these 2 parts?

The R&D grate is well proven by many on this forum. I think it is a good choice.
Also, those 4 little screws on the speedo suck... I ended up taking mine out with a screw extractor and then replacing them with SS bolts.

i'm glad everyone feels this way about these screws, I thought it was just me because my ski sits in the water constantly. I ordered the R&D grate.
