Which sucks.... I always thought it would be pretty bad ass to cruise at night. Wait for a nearly full moon so there is plenty of ambient light, and just take a cruise down the intercoastal.

I see pwcs with lights at night in Norfolk. They hang out there with the local kayak fishing club...

Well the law in norway forbids riding of pwc's anywhere and anytime exept on the few courses we have. This prohibition is not legal according to european union laws, so we have a loophole there. If we ride a CE approved vessel with european origin(seadoo, hsr) the police can not do anything, if you ride a kawasaki or yamaha for instance, the police can give you a ticket, 5000 nok, about 900 bucks.

No freeriding with snowmobile in Norway, only on certain areas on approved "roads".

Not by the way I read the regs - it's "recommended" by the Canadian Coast Guard you don't ride a PWC at night, but from a purely legal standpoint so long as you meet the regs for lighting and equipment you can operate at night same as any other vessel.

I have never seen the coast guard on a inland lake so you can tell that story to the fish cop as he writing your ticket
