I'm back On tHe hulk!! Got my old ski back the raider1200

I'm very happy to announce the return of the raider 1200. I was pleased to find my old ski that I traded away for sale and got it fit a great deal. Ski still started right up just needed a new battery. I'm gonna repaint the hull and try to continue the quest to hit 70 mph. The ski is a 1995 waveraider with a 66h 1200 motor with Riva purple cdi, Riva flame arresters, Riva thru hull exhaust, Riva Reed spacer plate , not sure what reeds, has Solas j prop, custom ride plate and open intake grate. Umi steering and billet throttle. Billet fire extinguisher cover, I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff.
If anyone has any parts for a gp1200 let me know. I'm looking for v force reeds, Riva head or Ada , thinking of going big bore. I'm gonna do compression test tomorrow to get an idea of where I'm at. It was 130/120/130 when I had it before. Thanks in advance for any help. Good to be back on here

    Sounds pretty cool!
When you say 66H 1200 motor, did you mean 65U?

Yes 65u is the same motor. I think the 66 h was used in jetboat

Most people recommend the commercial Tiny Tach for the max rpm recall. Or the PET-2100 DX tach is another favorite around here.

I ordered a tiny tach commercial and 5 degree nozzle from a gp1200 99. Last night I did a compression test and was very pleased. 135/128/130 with throttle wide open. It starts right up but I'm wondering if I should rebuild the carbs before water testing it. What do u guys think ? Ski has not be on water but guy I got it from said he started it once a month. He had for six months

Might be worth it to go through the carbs to make sure they aren't all gummed up with old gas and to make sure the check valves aren't creased.

Yeah I'm gonna rebuild the carbs before I water test. I'm gonna order the kits next week. I'd rather be safe and not ride than ride it and blow the motor. I'm actually planning doing a full rebuild with new oem pistons maybe 1 over depends how the cylinders look and sending jugs out to the judge for a makeover along with the crank for truing and welding. Then an Ada head and v force 3 reeds. Should be fast enough then lol

Sounds like a nice plan to me! OEM Yamaha pistons only go .25mm and .5mm over, so you'll have to look at Pro-X for the oem quality 1.0mm over.

I must have heard wrong about the oem 1 over. I'm gonna order the smallest bore possible. Stock would be great if the cylinders look good. Whatever the judge tells me to do I'm gonna do lol.
