RXP shaft and carbon ring question

Installed the SFR bellows band today, and put everything back the way it came out,
put the socket in the pump and was able to push the drive shaft in just enough to put the C clip on in front of the hat piece
now I pulled the pump put the hose clamps on the bellows, put the pump back on less the socket,

How does the drive shaft move rearward to seal the C-clip?
Or do I pull it back into place? or it will go back on its own?

Sounds like he destroyed the drive shaft bumper on the end of the shaft
when you use a socket to compress the bumper it can destroys it and you must replace it. also when you remove the drive shaft it can cuts all 4 o- rings
I seem to allways have bad luck re-using o-rings
the service manual says to just push back the bellows to remove the c clip

I just got it to slip back into place, I used some Parker O ring lube on all the o-rings, it just needed a little jiggling,

    thanks,

IF he destroyed the front bumper, which he didnt, how would that prevent the driveshaft from sliding back sealling the C-clip/hat assembly???Also were do you get 4 O-rings from??The hat only has 2....and how does sliding the driveshaft back cut them???

That is what I was wondering, but sometimes people chime in who really don't know crap, you just have to weed out the flakes,

Possibly....BUT if your tearing up 4 O-ring seals in the drive line ever time you replace or pull the driveshaft you need to put the wrench down..Ive pulled replaced my driveshaft more times than you can count and have yet to tear up the O-rings....
