Polaris freedom700 engine wobble? Normal?
I rebuilt a sl700 engine recently put higher compression heads on it and a polaris freedom stator (to match the cdi in the polaris freedom) on it which is more advanced than the original. When i idle on land or in the water the engine wobbles about a 1/4 inch back and forth. The engine has no problem idleing itself. Is this normal? Ive watched videos on stock polaris sl700s and they seem to idle very smooth in comparison.

You probably have a lose or broken engine mount.

I was thinking along those lines but they were all solid when installing the engine. I tightened with an impact wrench but mayb ei shoulde get in there by hand.

An impact wrench should not be used to assemble any part of these machines.

So I re-torqued the mounting bolts to spec and the engine wobbled a little less. I tried pushing, pulling and shoving the engine by hand and it is down tight. It just seems like it rumbles a lot more than it should. Right around 1800 rpms on water it clears up and smooths out. Im wondering if the timing is too advanced??
