    Fishing 101...?

I picked up the hobby of fishing now and have the worse luck at it! Kinda like the luck I have with my RXT

Anyone care to educate me a bit on this stress relieving hobby?

I got a starter fishing rod, hooks, weights and usually use live shrimp as bait.

What else do I need to know besides being PATIENT

I have gone down to the keys to do my fishing.

    Geo:

LOL, somehow I have a vision of you casting with a "Scooby-doo" 2' long fishing pole, and the handle of the rod breaks.

Geo, let's fish dude!!!! Start off by free lining live srimp in a area that has not much of a current( Points, Biscanne bay ) or they have a flat weight with a 12" leader for snook fishing that works perfect when fishing bridges. this will catch fish everytime.
For us fish in south Florida the fish are hungry when the tides are moving(When it's coming in the fish will follow,When it's going out they will wait)

We also have those canals that run the turnpike down around the Hardrock that are full of black bass!!!!! Use dark worms tied carolina rig and you'll have big bass all day.

Let me know one day and i'll meet you at Bass pro, we'll stock you up!!

Drink lots. It helps pass the time, and you are much more excited if you actually catch something.

I was thinking of doing the canal gig. I have one by my house and there is always someone fishing. No shrimp or squid for the black bass?

    I agree.

You actually do something else besides drink with a buddy all day long and talk about girls you wish you could bang but can't because you are married.

Fishing is like golf, hunting, and race tracks, it's just another way to get away for the wife or (girlfriend) for a day.

Never thought of it that way. But it's the truth.

Check the papers on fridays usually, for the fishing report, it'll tell you when, where and how.

The snook will be running soon if they aren't already.

alex13 sounds like he has his sht together.
