    JS550 engine is revving.

I've just restored a kawasaki js550 with some friends, and rebuilt the carburetor. But when we start it up it's revving up like crazy and we have to kill it by covering the air filter. the idle screw is almost all the way down if we turn it more the engine will not stay running.. it's really strange. Do anyone have some ide of whats happening?
Will it help to adjust the high/low speed screws? or will that just change how rich the fuel mix is?

    Best Regards

    Welcome aboard, TilliK!

Sounds like you have an air leak on the intake side somewhere. Make sure the intake manifold and carbs are secure.
