    Stock Carb Setting for GP800R??

I've been searching and surprisingly have not been able to find a good answer for what the high and low speed screw settings should be for a stock GP800R. I guess most people here have the 1200 or 1300.

    My carbs on a stock GP800R were set at LOW: 1-7/8 (M), 1-1/2 (P); HIGH: 1/4, 1/4

I've found some info for the GP800, but not much for the GP800R. And some folks say the 800R uses the same settings, but other places show different jet sizes. I've seen posts here and on other sites that say the Lows should be anywhere from 1-5/8 to 2-1/4 (M) and 1-3/4 to 1-7/8 (P), all +/- 1/4. That is a lot of difference in the Low setting for the front carb. Everywhere seems to agree that the Highs should be at 1/2 +/- 1/4.

Does anyone know for sure what the Lows should be set at?

Mfable, I appologize/don't mean to de-rail, but on your gp800r, I understand there is no cat-con and no tamper caps on both high/low-speed screws (unlike the 1200gpr), is that correct?

That is correct the carb bodies are different than GP1200R carb bodies and the twin met emissions without the need for a cat. Motors look similar but are completely different.

Yes, that's right. No cat con. And I was pleasantly surprised after reading lots of posts about needing to remove to tamper camps on the 1200s to find that my ski did not have the caps. One less thing I have to mess with.

Thanks! That is exactly what I needed to know. I kept finding conflicting information, but I figured I could get a quick answer here.

I just looked at this again, and it looks to me like my rear carb low speed adjuster was slightly lower than spec if I am reading it right. Spec would be from 1-5/8 to 2-1/8, so 1-1/2 was just under. It was on the fat side of 1-1/2, so it was pretty close. But I think I will bump it up to 1-7/8 when I put everything back together and see how it runs. I'd much rather be rich than lean!

mfabel, do you know if the high's/low's are located/oriented up/down similar to the 1200 carb's?
