Theres no resistance on the motor so it coudl rev that high and i dont think its in the best instrest of ure ski to do that on the trailer. After i put my stage one my rpm's went up to 8350 i had to get my prop re pitched.

So, your rxp was hitting 8350 on a stage 1? Stock ecu? I thought the rev limiter was 8200. I got 8200 rpm with my stock prop on a stg 1.

I have seen people do this for years with two strokes when they pull them from the water at a ramp and I just cant believe they would invest that kind of money into something and treat it like that! Some just dont know any better and some do and still do it

on a two stroke it is necessary to rev it hard to blow as much of the water out of the exhaust as possible. They can stand the no-load revs a little better because essentially the only moving parts are crank, rods, pistons and a counterbalance shaft.
