    Question Which rude?

    Hey all

    Im looking increasing boost from my current xcharger setup.

    Im considering either a 2rude or 3rude.

    I mostly ride flat water and i really want to get my fat 3 seater moving.

    Checking slip every 5-10hrs is not really a problem.

    Fuelling wise iv got 60lb injectors ready to go, Vtech tuner, Aeromotive RRFPR and MTX-L AFR gauge.

    Im only interested in running 98 ron fuel (think around 93 mon)

    What do you think? l like the idea of the extra power but at the same time i don't want to be rebuilding my motor in 10 hours time.

    Going on a stock 215 motor with 80odd hours.

    What maps does v-tech have?
    If they have one close IMO not having to get a custom map will save many headaches

    My ECU has a unique program so they don't have any that suits it yet so unfortunately it will all be custom.

    The other thing is I'm considering doing the Sydney bridge to bridge race this year and it would be nice to be semi competitive in open class (no choice, have rear exhaust)

    Could be risky going with the R3 with stock pistons and try to run a Bridge to Bridge !!! My R3 performs well but it takes a lot of tuning to get the full benefit and you will burn up bearings and seals regularly (charger) if you ride it hard so be prepared to replace every 25hrs or so. I would go for the R2 !!! a safer bet with stock bottom end but thats only my opinion!!!

    I have both R3 for occassional halling ass. R2 for WOT all the time...

    I suggest the Mini-Rude. Cost less, won't hurt the stock pistons, and has almost the same boost as the R2.

    Kinda what i was thinking, will wait for an R3 till i have a built engine.

    I can get a freshly rebuilt (by duke) R2 for about the same price as a mini rude/ET137,
    bit more go and gives me longer till rebuild (current charger is at 50hours)

    I'm very happy with how the 2rude performs on my ski Luke, I'm sure the 3rude would be awesome, but I think it's a bit much like others have said.
