i've got a completely ported head with brand new valves..... i'm just trying to justify using the 06 even though I want to use the 05.... If i use the 05 and I decide to sell the 06 it would bring more money, but if the 06 positives outweighs the 05 then I"ll use the 06, what do you think the price difference in the 05 and 06 electronics are. everything else is pretty much the same

I'd use the 06 and keep the 05 for parts till you sell the ski.
    Imo

06 electronics are probably worth a little more. I think the 2006 dash looks alot better. I'm not a fan of the needles, it looks outdated imo. I think the conversion might be worth a little more with newer components. It all depends on what you want to do, Ive seen no difference in performance between the two powerplants. I have 2008 rxpx components in my conversion.

To put a spanner in this statement.....early 06 ski's had 05 engines, just check the date on the front of the block. Early engines had better cams so no way are the late ones any better "stock".

All 1503 motors are the same in reliability, with exception of the valve issue and then the cam chain issue they have been a bullet proof platform putting up with all sorts of mods and generaly poor tune ups as the owners generally stack up mods and expect the ecu's to cope. I would say we have had more fun with this engine platform than any other ever. It's just a pitty all the new Doo's have so much electronic crap and that the engines are buried so deep in the hulls under suspension, covers, emmision noise protection etc etc that they are getting less and less fun to work on.

1503 in a GPR = performance and reliability
