08 Ultra lx question
Been looking to pick up another ski and have been having a tough time this spring. Every decent one I see locally ends up sold before I can even make an offer. Anyways, a local dealer has a 08 Kawi Ultra lx in with 35 hrs on it. The ski comes with a trailer and an asking price of $8K. I'll be using the ski for offshore cruising and fishing. I've read some pretty decent reviews on the size and storage capacity of the ski. Curious if anyone has one and what their likes / dislikes of the ski may be.

I had an 08 ultra LX with 27 hours and it fried a piston and ring ..
I had it fixed and sold it.
Ski was a very stable cow on the water.
If your riding salt water I'd say get a doo with the close loop cooling.

The LX is a.very good ski. Very reliable skis don't just fry pistons especially the LX. Best ocean Na ski out there. I would not by a doo. Wotxx please tell me how the closed loop will be more reliable in the salt water and please show me where any ski that was flushed afterwards died because of internal corrosion. If your going to give advice at least give good advice

If you flush salt water out its not 100% gone..
And yes I bought the ski at 18 hrs and by 27 it fried the #1 cylinder.
I'm not bashing cows here I'm just telling my experience.
Its top speed was 55-58 and for a 1500 cc machine you would think it would be 60+
Maybe I got a bad Apple.
But that bad Apple drove me to doos...

I think the LX is a 100% choice
VERY stable .............
BIGGEST storage of any ski
100% reliability proven ...........any ski can always have the shit happens factor
but for your use you wont get better than the LX , no sea-dodo or Yamaha comes close with the points you pointed out that will suit your riding/use
You will always get the guys on here that just throw useless comments on why u shouldn't , but the reality is they have no REAL facts other than well this and this happened to a friend and you will never get the full story why any of the problem happened what ever the brand
buy the LX and you wont buy unhappy ...........as long as u don't want to race people , they are a cruising / ski that WILL suit your needs 100%
