    C-clip popped off...

C-clip popped off of drive shaft after 20 minutes of riding. Thank God for my bilge. Love that little Rule pump!
How can that clip pop off? I found it relaxing below the engine, still in one piece.
I'm using o-rings around my bellow to stiffen it up, and believe me, it was tight against the support ring.
New parts are on the way.
    She was running strong too...

Nope. My dad jumped in my truck and we pulled it out of the water.
The bilge is pretty big and did a great job. Worth every penny!
This happened Saturday. Sunday I was planning to ride to my uncles place which is on the river side (I'm on the dam side). I would have had to pull it up on the bank somewhere... Luck was on my side!

Super lucky, I once had this happen on a new used 05 rxt in Hilton Head after owning it for 6 days and I almost sank, I had no choice but to floor it to the nearest oyster bank, had to get off the thing and sliced the shit out of my feet and legs just to keep it from sinking, dam dealer didn't do any type of inspection on trade and thats how I got ripped off... ended up trading it back in and buying a brand new ski.

Was that c-clip EVER reused??? How many hours on that c-clip?

These c-clips get wear grooves on them after some random amount of time....im thinking this varies depending on the alignment of the engine. Some alignments are better than others. The first time I replaced my bellow, i reused the c-clip because I had no idea it was any major wear item. I didnt have any reason to think that the c-clip could jump out from under the floating ring. Well, as you now know, they DO. The wear in the clips allow them to get spit out with just a few good turns or torque and next thing you know, you're sunk!

I stock up on these c-clips now and I replace them EVERY time I pull one out for whatever reason!

The drive shafts wear out the C-clip groove also, after 200 hrs or so on modified skis. I'm on drive shaft #4 now
