Buying a 2009 FZR (Question on hours?)

So im finally buying my first ski and have come across a 2009 FZR with 125 hours. What are your opinions on a FZR with that many hours? The ski is listed for $7500 OBO with trailer. What would be a good offer and what maintenance checks should i make such as compression checks ect..

    Thanks

To give you an idea I just purchased an 09 fzr, 12 hours, yes warranty, trailer and 1k in mods for 10k. I could have probably gone less but the previous owner took great care of it and price was based on splitting the difference, we were both happy, deal was made in 5 ninutes but 8 hour drive for me, ugh!

I would worry more about the condition it is in than the hours. 125 isn't much. Is it still under warranty? What shape is the paint and hull in? I'd look it over for corrosion and check the compression and clutch. I wouldn't buy it without a water test.

That is a pretty good price. If the ski is clean it will sell fast.

BTW, I also graduated from USF ENG. Go Bulls.

Yes there are still 2 years on the warranty and it is very clean. What should I look for when checking out the clutch? And from my novice knowledge of skis the clutch we are referring to is the one for the supercharger correct?
Also yes GO BULLS! The USF ENG department is great there!

Make sure the supercharger wheel only spin in one way, also check for INTAKE GRATE, like sombody said, YOU MUST RIDE THE SKI before purchasing, take it to a lake and test it, if it looks good, runs good, and it has two years of warranty i think is a steal.

Ok great info! And I always like asking people about the maintenance they have done. Just to confirm the scheduled oil changes are every 50hrs after there first 10hrs right?

that depends on the person i personally change my plugs every two or three rides, OIL every 25 to 30 hours, but again my ski is modded so yes 50 hours should be fine

$7500 is a good price, especially if it has the extended warranty. I was quoted $7k trade in when I was thinking of trading mine in on a different model 6 months ago.
