    1995 Seadoo Speedster Project

This was going to be a winter project but I am just getting around to working on it. It is a 1995 Seadoo Speedster with twin 657x engines. Not sure on the hours but the boat is in rough shape.

Removed the seats and several hours of scrubbing and cleaning.

Holy smokes man! You made that thing look brand new again! You gonna re upholster the seats or?

Keep this updated, I'd like to stay around to see how this goes.

Yea, I got a set of covers in Silver and Gray from Keith at www.seadooupholstery.com. Going to take them to the upholster next week.

BTW, the seats are a pain in the rear to take out especially with rounded bolts from previous owner!

Is all the work cosmetic or has some engine issues as well?

Previous owner locked up both carbs so I am fixing one and sourced another used part. Just finished rebuilding and installing the starboard carb.

After 2 or 3 attempts of starting the boat, it finally turned over and ran for about 20 seconds and then died. After about 20 minutes of messing with the carb and engine I attempted to restart it. After two attempts the starter was making some kind of a buzzing noise and would not crank the engine. I am wondering if my starter died or maybe I just didn't have enough juice in my batteries. The engine spins with minimal effort. Any thoughts?

Is the air adjustments and all on the carburetor set right?
I'm not sure as far as the starter. Try hooking the battery up to a charger or jumping the battery with your truck if u think the battery may be getting low. That will at least tell you if the starter is bad or not.
