    657x Starting problems

I posted this on my project thread but was unsure how many of you would see if over there.

I just installed the rebuilt carburetor on my speedster last night and after 2 or 3 attempts of starting the boat, it finally turned over and ran for about 20 seconds and then died. After about 20 minutes of messing with the carb and engine I attempted to restart it. After two attempts the starter was making some kind of a buzzing noise and would not crank the engine. I am wondering if my starter died or maybe I just didn't have enough juice in my batteries. The engine spins with minimal effort so it is not locked up. Any thoughts?

usually the relay will buzz or click when the battery voltage is low..

Charge the battery and test again.. It may just be the starter..

Put a volt meter across the battery and check the battery voltage while cranking - the voltage should not drop below 10.5 volts..
