    Lab Surgery

Well three weeks ago my lab was on a retrieve and ruptured her left rear cruciate ligament. First appointment for surgery was today for a procedure called TPLO, Tibia Plateau Leveling Osteotomy. Anyone want to guess the bill on that baby?

Thanks Pale Rider. I get to bring her home tomorrow. We have a ten week recovery period and about six months until it is back to normal. I should have plenty of time to play with the skis in the garage this winter. My mods will be on hold for awhile. That surgery is $3200.00 but if it works it is worth every penny of it for the dog to live a healthy life. It just screwed up our last three weeks of waterfowl season. Always next year.

Millie came home today in good spirits and with a soft cast for a total of $3,316.34. Do you think I should give them a tip? Now for twelve weeks of leash walking and confinement in the house. Then eight weeks of fast walking and jogging. I should be in shape when this is over.

Glad your doggie is home, and hope the both of you have a fast recovery . We just got our new puppy on Dec 21st. and there isn`t a day that goes by that I can`t wait to get home from work to play with him...We had to put down our dog Tucker 2 years ago, he was fifteen years old. It took just about 2 years for mental healing. Then one day, I just new it was the right time/moment to get another dog, and when we walked into the puppy place, Nikko watched our every move and wanted to come home with us, and so he did...we enjoy every minute with him...
Hope all goes well for your dog...PR...
