    FZR Ride plates

Is anyone getting good speeds out of a ride plate other than the VX Plate? I have a Jims VX Plate and the top end smooth water bounce is very annoying. I already have a decent sized fender washer under the two rear bolts and its still bouncing. I can try and add more shims under the rear but at some point you have negated the gain from the plate. Is there any speed to be had with an R&D Plate? If so I wonder if Jim would consider modding them for those of us that aren't happy with the way the VX rides.

I hated how the VX made mine handle. Yes the speed was there, I won't argue that but I wanted more out of my ski than just a straight line number queen. It was loose, bouncy and didn't track for shit. I put the R&D on mine and its not coming off.

I'm not really concerned about handling because I like the straight line speed. The VX is fine for me handling wise, its just that damn annoying bounce at 80mph on flat water that I hate!

Good luck, I never did get mine to quit bouncing, and I used every washer combination possible. I'm not talking just a little front to back rock, I'm talk'n about scare the crap out of you porpousing alot of the time
I'm going to an R&D soon, but for now I'm fine with the handling on the stock plate. It's not as fast, but it's very solid and predictable.

I could give a crap about top speed when it comes at the cost of handling or a better feel in ugly water.
5 hours with a stock plate, 2 hours with a VX, 30 minutes with the R&D. I too am leaving the R&D plate.
