You need to be more clear about exactly what is happening.

if you crank it up and give it throttle it will not rev up. it sounds like its hitting a rev limiter at about 2000 rpms. also i have two mfds and there not working.

I tried a different cdi box i had laying around and i disconnected the grey wire. It revs up fine and runs great on the water.

Are both MFD's totally dead? If so, check the 1/4A fuse in the electrical box. That fuse is in series with the power wire to the MFD. If it is blown, do not replace it with a larger amperage fuse. 1/4A fuses are available at Radio Shack Pt#270-1002.
