What parts needed to build a carbed 777?

So, I've been considering building a 777 for either the 'Cane or the SLH and haven't been able to find a whole lot of good information. As I understand it both the bore and stroke are increased over a standard 700. It looks like I would need the crank and cases in addition to the jugs and cylinders. Is this correct?

I did a bit of searching but didn't really find a whole lot of good information on the subject. If someone has a link or advice on what to search for that would be a big help. Thanks in advance!

I think 700 cases will work - def need the crank and top end (1200 jugs/pistons) though

cases would have to be modded to accept the bigger stroke of the 70mm crank.franken keihins to feed it.what about a cdi??the 700 is a 68mm base.if your gonna drop the cash to get the hard to get crank, unless you want to have one made from a 1200 pork chopper which i guess could be done, might as well time it right.

hey throttleout im looking at doing a similar thing with my cane, boring the 1200 jugs out to 85mm gives you almosy 800 cc but ive also herd that they can be taken out to nearly 1000 cc with a cylinder bore & sleve , i also have a set of 46 sbn's to get the gas in

I have a few sets of Keihin 40's kicking around here now thanks to the deal that's going on. I think I'm gonna build a set of fkn Keihins to go on the hurricane first and depending on how I like the results may build a set for the SLH as well.

So, what skis should I look for parts off of? Here's what it looks like...

Crank/Cases: Octane, Virage 800DI, 1200 with some work, or possibly modify 700 cases to work
Cylinders/Jugs/Pistons: Any domestic 1200 or 800DI (Different heads?)
    Carbs: Franken Keihin's (40mm's)

Part numbers for crankcase on slh700 and octane are The same - not sure mod is necessary

Might have to bore the cases where the cyl. Skirts fit in. Also watch case clearance to piston skirts. When I use 1050 cases to build a 1200 snowmobile motor we bore cases to fit 800 snowmobile cyl. and piston skirt clearance.

thats what it is the cases have to modded to run the 1200 jugs, but i bet the pork chop crank would work to build a cheap 800.

Yes You have bore cases for cyl and piston clearance. If you use 1200 cases no, but we also have to take 2 800 sowmobile cranks to make a 1200 crank or buy one done. I think a crank is like around 1500 now. watercraft crank won't hold up.
