Speed reading off by about 10mph....

My speed reading is off by about 10mph....

At wot I am at 58mph showing on cluster, however friends are keeping up with me and they have gps reading of 69mph.

Any thoughts on how something like this can happen / be corrected?

Rely on gps speeds... not the dash, problem solved!

    My dash speed show's 70 mph.... yet I pass 80 mph "gps'd" ski's .......

If your really concerned about your dash speed being off, (and it will always be somewhat) you could try replacing your speed-water temp sensor.

That's strange.. My speedo wheel blew off over a hundred hours ago.. Never worried about it because I know I'm over the 70 mark it stops at.. With my RXX i never had a speedo..and am more concerned with rpm's.. If the ski runs the same, no worries.. But that is a big jump down even for the stock speedo

I went through all the trouble to put a speedo on my gprxp, drilling through hull to run wiring etc, 7hrs later the speedo wheel disintegrated. It was a bummer only going to 70 anyway, now I just rely on gps. My ported gpr is fun because it will read 12mph high.. Let a buddy ride it and he got off telling friends " I just went 91mph!" lol I said "put it in a slight turn and you'll see 100 " he said "WOW it goes even faster when turning ?!?"
lol I dont have the brightest of friends.

Apparently my new ecu does not have this option according to the dealer... Not sure I believe that...
