    oil in hull

Ok I am going to install the riva gear damper but looked into the front of the engine on my fzr and there is oil. The dealer installed the supercharger clutch at the end of last year, this is the first time I have looked in there I only rode it once after they fixed it. I am just wondering were the oil might be comming from any ideas Thanks.

Clean up the inside of your hull real good, check oil level and re ride ski hopefully the oil was left in the hull when the dealer changed the clutch. It's hard to change the clutch/damper without making a mess in the hull. Tommy Jordan

I am going to clean but I am installing the damper myself that is how I saw the oil when I removed the supercharger and looked down into hull.

How does everyone clean the bottom of the haul? Behind the midwall is no biggie, but under the engine is a PITA.

Most of the oil in my haul is from oil changes.. Those filters can be slippery lil devils.

Put a couple in inches of water inside, give a good squirt of Dawn dish soap, and by the time you get to the other side of town it will clean itself

I had oil in the hull after my clutch was replaced, the dealer never cleaned the oil after the repair...

Hopefully they clean mine up because I hate the sight of fluid, it always gives me reason to wonder. They had to pull the engine so there is no excuse not to clean it up.

Thanks for the advice I feel better about the oil now. I have two more questions do you put anything on the gasket for the oil pump or leave it dry and when filling the oil pump with oil how do you get it back on without all the oil coming out when you put the pump back on? Thanks again

I gave my pump enough oil to coat it internally and dumped the excess. If you fill it up like the manual states (for a new dry engine) it will just dump out when you install it and make a horrid mess again!
