    Solas 14/21 aluminum nosecone dissapeared!!!!!!

I have never had one completely dissapear on me but WOW!!! I was looking under my ski and noticed the Aluminum nose cone Impros included with my 300x 14/21 solas was gone.Im assuming it has slid up the shaft and is up in the white thru hull insert. Ski ran fine yesterday but looks like im pulling the pump tonight. Is there a fix for this problem or should i just put the rubber cone that came with the solas in?I really cant see there would be a gain from using the Aluminum one anyway!

O.K. now that i know not to use the Aluminum ones on Kawi! How do i get this one off?I pulled the pump and it is slid all the way foward on the shaft. I thought i could possibly slide somthing up over the cone and pull it back off but so for cant find anything the rite ID to slide over it.Its so far up in there hard to get anything on it.How hard is it to pull that shaft?

nothing will happen without it as the oem rubber ones split and fall out all the time. but if the alley one slips up and down the shaft, and you replace it with the nylon one without removing it im sure it could cause some cavitation problems.

AH!!!! Welding wire it is Will try this today.
O.K. I got the nose cone out only to find i now have a round spring from some where on the drive shaft,I think it goes all the way up where the bearing is at the end of the drive shaft. thats going to be a PAIN to get to.
    UPDATE!!!!
I am pretty sure the spring is off of the Oil seal where the shaft goes thru the hull,To my knowledge there is NO WAY to reinstall it from the rear of ski.Is it going to hurt anything to just leave it off?I will have a better chance of getting a small zip tie around it than reinstalling that spring. What a PITA.

If your talking about the thru hull I hope it's not damaged as you will sink in short order if it fails. I'd fill up the hull with some water to check it out.
