2003 virage No spark (no bilge)

Hi everyone I am new to forum and have been reading the many posts on above topic.

Never had any mechanical problem with my ski, but last weekend teh ski just died while running.

Right away I noticed no spark. plugs only have 1 hr on them new this summer

The battery has plenty of power.

I verified lanyard switch is good with an ohm meter

I read to try the bilge, which does not run. Never use it, so not sure if this is related.

I believe that by pushing the bilge it bypasses the LR-505. (not sure what the real name is for the LR-505, but strange that this is not a part available on E*bay.

I am sure I will get many posts to check the grounds, but I checked for loose, corroded grounds and they all are tight and clean.

I can do anything mechanical, but all this electrical help is difficult given everyone is using abbreviations for technical terms of what is inside the electrical box.

Is there anything else I should do before I pull the ski and pay for service.

    thanks

    Welcome to The Hulk!

The LR505 is a failure point on these skis. You can bypass it for troubleshooting.

One test is to disconnect the black/yellow from the LR505 to see if that is grounding out the CDI. You will also want to move the CDI's red/purple from the orange jumper and connect it to the red/purple spade on the board.

You can bypass the LR module entirely as a diagnostic.

That LR Start/Stop module works slightly differently for the carburetor engines compared to the Ficht fuel injected engines so read the diagnostics carefully to ensure you are following the correct method for your engine type.

See my signature links for related info.

I have the 2clyndr carb ski. If I read right I remove the 5 spade terminals for wires coming out of the lr module, then ground the blk white wire that runs from the starter relay.

With bilge not working, can I still hold the bilge button with lr wires unplugged, or do I do the the alternate wire swap

Start running ignition / stator tests. Easy to do, only requires a multimeter.

Update, I took the ski in to dealer, and they diagnosed the CDI. They want $800 to replace including $390 for cdi. Is replacing the cdi really a 3 hr job? I can go back through posts, but I recall a couple posts were the CDI part was available. Any advise......
