    Supercharger Disassembly

Hey guys, been a long time reader of the site but dont post alot. I was messing with my RXP the other day, and noticed the top supercharger mount was cracked...tore into it and found out the bottom mounting bolt had worked itself loose somehow, causing excess vibration i presume. Anyways, pulled the supercharger, but cant quite understand how to get it apart so i can weld up the rear housing...Can anybody lead me in the right direction? Tried to pm Jerry but his inbox was full.....Thanks in advance for the help guys...

Remove all the case half bolts then stick a 1/2 drive ratchet between the tabs and twist.

But not all superchargers have the tabs together so a 1/2 drive ratchet won't work. If that is the case, leave 1 loosened housing bolt on the the housing halves and smack the front housing tab to loosen it from the back half.

No.....you'll need the manual and a press to do the job correctly, or just send the entire supercharger to Jerry.

NO,Youll have to take the front seal/disk off, then press the shaft and bearings out...Once you press the bearings out they are junk and will need to be replaced upon re-assembly..

This link is about the best one i could find with pics showing how to dis-assemble a Scer:

not sure if welding on the charger is a good idea, could warp. I would buy a new one since you have to/should rebuild anyway. Since it was only hanging on 1 bolt, does everything look fine on the engine side of the charger?

welding sounds like a bad idea to me.

Find a good used charger in the classifieds.

I have one for sale, and I'm sure there are some others on there also.
