How to Rotate a 50' Garden Hose

How do you rotate a 50' Garden Hose to connect to your Ultra-300x "Flush Ports"?

You don't - you visit the Local Garden Supply at Lowe's and make something like this:

How come everyone does this, rather then just screw in the hose fitting and clip the garden hose to the orange fittings?

Are the inside diameters the same on ether the plastic or brass ones ? To make sure flow is not reduced. Me myself I just screw my hose in I have no issue.

The are reduced a little but that just makes the pressure higher not the flow lower right?
