Leaving VXR in water??
I will be heading for my two week holiday in July to the cottage on a quiet calm lake in northern Ontario and my question is am I okay to leave it secured to the dock when not using it which is mostly overnight...it will be a bit of a pain in the ass to have to pull it out each day at the end of the day but could be done I guess...last year I had my 03 xlt 1200 in the water the whole 2 weeks without an issue. I will be riding it everyday if that makes any difference for your answers.
Thanks for the help.

Probably be fine considering you're going to be riding it every day and keeping an eye on it.
The only thing is make sure you have the check valve instead of that problematic elbow fitting that causes leaks in reverse; I heard they fixed this on the new ones but you should double check it to be sure...

Should be fine. I keep mine in the water during the summer and besides zebra muscles and water spots so far so good. A weekend is fine. Long term its not a good idea as the metals on a ski arent protected by sacrificial nodes so parts will start corroding and/or swelling

Just personal choice.....dock line comes loose, bad storm rolls up, Fing thief comes around, some thing springs a leak, 2 weeks in the water theres a chance of aquatic growth....etc....

Well even though it will be little bit of a pain in the arse you guys are probably talking me into pulling it out...after the day is done of course.

a few minute of inconvenience is a whole lot better than to come out in the morning with a hot cup of coffee to find your ski sitting on the bottom of the lake....... wouldn't that just make your day...

If you must I'd look into a floating dry dock if anything. You know the ones you just pull the ski up on. And make sure you enable the security feature on the remote.
