oil blowby fix :) / mods in progress for 300x
So I finally decided to fix my oil blow by issues. secondary catch can didnt do much
started by cutting the top portion of the can off. 1cm below the bracket. youll see the factory baffle. filled that with steel wool, tacked it back into place. the bottom portion: tons of steel wool as well as a 90 degree bend for the oil/vapor to go down into the can, then passing through all the wool back up. powdercoated it wrinkle black and welded up the bung for a breather. 3 hours later she is complete
cut 4 wholes inside the factory waterbox and got it powdercoated as well. check out my boys welds

I had oil in the intercooler at 40 hours, however when I looked at 65 hours I had less than a 1/4 of the oil I had before, and totally nothing to worry about. I think you'll probably get a little extra oil in the cooler while the rings bed but after that it should be fine. I'll open it up at 100 hours or later and see what it's like, but I'm not expecting to get much.

best indication mal is tip the trailer up at the front over night and see how much oil collects in the little clear tube, i have had nothing to worry about for hrs now

I'm running the Saikou Michi catch can, and I get about a pint of nasty looking oil and gas after a hard ride in the sump of the catch can. Pro: the junk in the catch can stays out of your engine, and therefore the engine oil is less contaminated. Con: you have to drain it every ride. The volume of blow-by is also sensitive to oil level but I'm still evaluating this; I run mine on the low side on the dipstick.

can tell you now its not sensitive to oil levels mine has not moved from the full line in 10hrs and guess what no oil mess.
