Ok.. brand new RXX, anyone got one?
I just got a brand new RXX that has never been in water, never started. If anyone has experience with these or actually owns one please let me know. Anyone who wants to trash talk them or give your "hear say input", dont bother, I've heard it I'm new here but I will post pics as soon as I can take some and post them

6500 was as low as they would go... get em down from 8500 though!

I hope 6500 wasn't too much.. it is brand new, never started. From what they went for in 2001 I dont think it is bad

Well, FYI, Some of the RXX's had rust in the motors from sitting so long in the dealerships. I would take it very easy for the first few hours, but if the rust got in the crank. Well I hope not.

It depends on where the ski had been stored for the past 5-6 years. If it was outside or even inside a humid garage, you can be pretty sure condensation or humidity has started rust in places you don't see..like inside the engine. $6,500 is a lot to spend on a potential time bomb. I hope you don't have any more problems with the ski than what they are already noted for.

well i hope there isnt any rust, it has never been outdoors, always kept inside the dealership, never seen any kind of water, oil, gas, i dont know why it would be prone to any rust, i sure hope not! $6500 ok price for brand new?

and further more Richard... I know the bad things people say about them... and frankly i think everyone has bad things to say about every ski, is that what you are refering to as "noted for"?

A forum memember TLR used to work at PPG and he had talked to me for hours one day about the RXX as I was gonna buy one like you did. It was even a few years ago....
He said from BRP's warehouse when they would recieve them in they would tear them down as they had way to many have rust in them...
Rust on the crank journels is havok waiting to happen....
The dealer might have had it on there showroom, but were it sat before that is also need to be thought of.
Condisation forms in our ski's very easy.
If your ski was at the dealer since they first came out in early 01, you may be OK, but if they recieved it late 02, thenyou can count on some rust being in it from BRP's storage place....
SORRY to say...
IF it was me and I found one cheap... A lot cheaper than what you did. I would yank it down to the crank and inspect.... But That is me...
And them twins are a bithc to get out...
