    2004 RXP getting hot??

I just bought this seadoo and i had to put a new wear ring and prop on. I finished it and backed it down in the water and run it on the trailer for about 2 minutes and it bepped at me and said "h temp" on the display?? What could be the issue here?? Water pump?? How can I find out?? Thanks

the bottle was full but the bottle was not clipped in the seat cowl and was kind of laying down sides ways a bit. I am having the seat cowl painted is why it was off. Could this cause it to get hot??

The exhaust cooling flow might be blocked. There are 3 small holes near the end of the J-pipe that people often have issues with debris clogging them up and restricting water flow (causing exhaust overheat). This will also happen if the rubber coupler that connects the J-pipe to the waterbox is covering the holes. Most people drill the holes out to about 1/4" diameter. It could even be a kinked hose in the exhaust system.

You back it in far enough? If not far enough to supply pump with water, then not enough pressure to pump system.

Would be like running the ski in the driveway without a water supply will get hot quick
