    Can I change a driveshaft coupler / PTO balancer on a 717. I need a splined input

I am looking to change this PTO balancer on this 717 / 720 HX engine and I need to put on the splined driveshaft style (SPi) style. Need to figure it out quick! Or does the whole crank need to be swapped?

If your going to use the 717 in the Spi you can and bolt on the spline PTO.

Its not like a 951 where you can just bolt it on. It is all one asembly lloks like pressed on the crankshaft? Anyone know the answer or done it? (Spi was an example like XP or SPX)

Its not pressed. It threads on the crankshaft... And yes I've done it. Took a single carb GSi 720 and put that in an Hx.

I did it aswell. I put a flywheel puller on the flywheel and put a lare pry bar between the bolts that I threaded into the flywheel, to lock the engine. Then I used a fairly large pipe-wrench and was able to unthread the complete balancer. Thanks for your input.
