The lake gets a lot of wind sometimes and is very rough. Most of the time in the after noon. But it has a few spots that are protected. I personally don't like it Because it too open. It has a camping spots but sometime they fill up on week ends. Good luck http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_93.php

In the same general area (sort of) is Green Peter Reservoir (outside of Sweet Home, OR). A bit more primitive since there are no towns/marinas on the shoreline (20 minute drive to town for fuel), but has a lot more coves/arms to play in if the wind kicks up. Haven't ridden there in years, but have some friends that boat/wakeboard there just about every weekend spring through fall.

Oh, and many of the boaters in the area will just put in at Foster Lake (much smaller lake right off US 20 on the edge of Sweet Home), which cuts down the number of boats that would otherwise be at Green Peter.
