Carbon Seal Replacement
I pulled my pump off and gave my driveshaft a good pull and it came out. I ordered a new bellow and carbon seal. I read where there is a c clip somewhere that needs to replace. I didn't see where mine had a c clip in it?? Is it necessary to do that?? What all else do I need to do while I am in here?? Thanks.

Yeah i'm suprised you didn't sink if your c clip wasn't in there, it goes down in that groove on your driveshaft and usually sits under that top hat. You need the new carbon seal, bellows, o rings in the top hat, c clip and the driveshaft bumper plug. it's up to you if you want to replace the bellows clamps. if your top hat is corroded i would replace it as well.

How many hours on your ski? Salt or fresh water ski? Just curious.
Yes, replace everything mentioned above, including the insignificant looking c-clip! That c-clip CAN and WILL make you sink your ski if it's worn at all! And they wear regularly! Like I posted in another thread: I reused my c-clip once.....ONCE!
Plenty of great threads on doing this job.

By the way, your c-clip is likely sitting right there in your hull. If it were missing all together, you wouldn't have been floating during your last ride

What ski do you have?

My first time, I reused a worn c-clip. Rode for less than5 minutes, and with just the right torque on the driveshaft, the c-clip was spit out of it's groove. My ass was sinking fast and luckily I didn't get far from the dock. I had to beach it early and water was at least half way up the motor and stumbling.
No c-clip = everything comes completely loose = gaping hole in the hull
